Refrigerated incubators with compressor technology


BINDER cooled incubators use a compression-refrigeration unit that ensures a constant temperature. The refirgerated incubator works with a special convection technology that ensures a stable, constant climate in the inner chamber. The compressor we use enables temperature ranges from -5 to 100 °C, so that, in addition to maintaining the optimum incubation temperature for the reproduction of microorganisms, an occasional cooling cycle or hot-air disinfection cycle is also possible. The specific advantage of the cooling compressor in refrigerated incubators is that it allows for rapid temperature changes as well as temperatures below 0 °C. In many process steps it is necessary to switch between heating and cooling phases, which the convection technology achieves with no effort. The appeal of the KB Series cooled incubators is their weekly program timer, digital temperature regulation and capacity for programming either of two programs with various process steps.


Cooled incubators with thermoelectric cooling


Cooled incubators with thermoelectric cooling are particularly energy efficient. The advantage of these units is their low power consumption because thermoelectric cooling allows the cooling output to be regulated in very small doses. In order to keep the temperature extremely stable, the inner chamber is completely insulated from the ambient environment and functions with adjustable convection. This construction prevents samples or microorganisms from drying out during incubation. Cooled incubators with thermoelectric cooling are used primarily in the food industry and microbiology. Because of their low energy consumption, cooled incubators with thermoelectric cooling are particularly well suited for incubation at temperatures between room temperature and 37 °C as well as for lowering the temperature to refrigeration levels of 4 °C, for instance on weekends. Since no compressor is required, these refrigerated incubators are frequently used in small laboratories because of their space-saving construction.
