Case study: Customized climate chamber for testing heavy workpieces
A leading manufacturer of systems and components for automation technology was faced with a particular challenge: The workpieces that need to be tested are large, bulky, and quite substantial in weight. While the BINDER MK 1020 dynamic climate chamber does provide the required capacity in principle, real-world testing soon highlighted the limitations of the standard solution. Loading and unloading was only possible with a lifting platform, and it was very difficult to move the workpieces on the rack. The additional physical effort not only slowed down the testing process but also compromised occupational safety.
The company was therefore looking for a solution that made it possible to test heavy items with much less effort while also ensuring safety and improving efficiency.

Working on the basis of the tried-and-tested MK 1020 dynamic climate chamber, BINDER Customized Solutions developed a customized unit that is precisely tailored to the customer’s requirements. With reinforced racks and ball rollers, heavy and bulky workpieces can now be tested easily and safely.

- Two reinforced shelves, each with a load-bearing capacity of 160 kg (320 kg total load)
- Ball rollers on the shelves make it easy to insert and remove the workpieces
- Lateral guides and brushes on the racks, providing extra stability and protection
