New dynamic climate chambers with CO₂ refrigerant in four sizes

BINDER is expanding its range for temperature and climate testing with eight new models with extensive standard equipment.

BINDER is expanding its range for temperature and climate testing with eight new models. Extensive standard equipment and high performance support demanding laboratory tests.

The MK CO₂ and MKF CO₂ dynamic climate chambers are available in model sizes 240, 400, 720 and 1020. MK CO₂ is designed for temperature cycling, while MKF CO₂ also controls humidity. This allows users to select a chamber that suits their specimens and test profiles.

Extensive standard equipment for an attractive price-performance ratio

A heated viewing window with interior lighting, casters and a rack are included as standard. Access ports accommodate cables and measurement lines; their number and size depend on the model.

Test sequences can be programmed using the touchscreen controller. An internal data logger records measurements, which can be exported via USB in an open format. Ethernet and APT-COM™ Basic Edition software are also included. Key functions for running and documenting tests are therefore available as standard.

Rapid cooling and high heat compensation

The MKF 720 CO₂, for example, cools from +180 °C to −40 °C in 60 minutes. Short transitions between test temperatures can save time, particularly in repeated test cycles.

For tests with powered components that release heat, this model provides heat compensation of up to 1,100 W at 25 °C and 90% relative humidity. Its spatial temperature deviation is no greater than ±1.0 K, depending on the setpoint, supporting comparable conditions at different positions within the test space.

Testing down to −50 °C

The new models use natural CO₂ as their refrigerant. Their regular temperature range extends from −48 °C to +180 °C. Model sizes 240 and 400 can reach −50 °C for up to eight hours.

Selecting a chamber requires consideration of the temperature and humidity profile as well as the specimens’ size, mass and heat output.
