Girls' Day at BINDER

“They were all interested, and if one or another chooses a technical occupation, then the day was well worth it," says Sabrina Roth, Instructor at BINDER GmbH in Tuttlingen, Germany.” Eight students from Hermann-Hesse Realschule, Immanuel-Kant Gymnasium and Otto-Hahn Gymnasium visited the high-tech company on Girls' Day that develops and manufactures the climate simulation chambers for science and industry to learn about technical occupations. After a tour through the research center and production, the girls were able to test their manual skills in the training workshop. Under the direction of Klaus Brier, they built letter holders based on a technical drawing together with BINDER apprentices. They had to drill, mill and bend stainless steel tubes and cut threads, and finally assemble the pieces based on the drawing. The students were able to take the finished pieces home as a memento of their excursion into technology. The more important result was certainly the information about educational opportunities and careers. BINDER trains mechatronics engineers, mechatronics engineers for refrigeration technology, industrial mechanics, construction mechanics, machine and equipment operators, design draftsmen and bachelors of science. “For a high-tech company like us, it is an important investment to encourage young talent. Well-trained employees ensure the future of the company," according to BINDER. "The more girls we can inspire about technology, the better."
